Disparaging movie remakes is a cliched and often reductive response to the trend, but when you have zombies running around and Russell Brand pretending to be a charming millionaire drunkard the hate is understandable. Still, there are exceptions- Richard Dreyfuss fighting fires, Jeff Bridges in an eye patch- and sometimes you (I, I’m talking about me) didn’t even know that Fatal Attraction was based on a British TV movie. It’s the quality of the original that shapes our opinion of the remake, even the idea of a remake, and sometimes your opinion is based on nothing more than the perception…
